Downloaded and installed OR from http://openrails.org/download/program/ Then when I open Open Rails in the top left corner it says V 1.0.3095 and in the top right corner it has Update to 3095. Is this correct? Do I already need to update?

What is the difference between V 1.0.3095 and 3095?

Hi Folks,

Aren't the update request controlled by your settings for which updates you choose to receive ?

Regards,
Scott

Ah, yes indeed it does. I had that set to stable on the V1, changing it does bring in the update request. Simple answer, set the updater to Stable. You can run the stable V1 and another test version to gather updates if you wish.

The first is the stable release and the second is the unstable (automatic) release. What may happen is if you have multiple copies of Open Rails using different update channels (stable, testing, unstable) then the updates for one may appear in the other. This is because the latest update is being kept with all the other user settings and doesn't currently differentiate between update channel. I am planning to address this by making it keep each update channel's data separately.
