Having some probs with AI trains getting stuck, ie simply stopping in the middle of a track section for no obvious reason.
They arnt stopped at a signal or switch, nor is there anything in front of them.
Diagnosing the Dispatcher window doesnt reveal any obvious reason, but when this happens the Mode is always = NODE, and the Auth = LP.
Does anyone know what LP means , as I cant find any referance to it anywhere.

Hi,
you can fing it in the Manual provided with OR:
LP: train is in loop
(chapter 7.5.12, page cca 65)

Regards,
Mirek

"LP" indeed stands for Loop - a situation where the path of a train loops back onto itself without reversing points, e.g. 'balloon' tracks and similar situations.
Please check therefor if this is indeed so.
If not, and the trains always stop at the same position, it could be caused by an error in the *.tdb file - it is known that sometimes the *.tdb files has nodes which loop back onto themselves, which can create all sorts of trouble.
It could perhaps help to have a good look at the Dispatcher Hud info just before the trains reach this position, and check if the path displayed does match what you would expect it to be.

Thanks.
AI Trains dont always stop like this .
Its actually not that common which makes this problem hard to track down.
The spot is in a loop, but not a reversing loop, just a crossing loop where there is a main line and a siding for trains to cross.
Ill keep reseaching this prob as Ive seen it before but its hard to reproduce.

On the issue of reversing loops , is it possible to have more than 1 train in the reversing loop at the same time following each other , assuming the loop is long enough?

Thanks
mauried
