Hi All,

I have a bit of the Springfield Terminal on the Conn River route I'm working on. Rather then use hidwire on 90+ miles of route for the one mile of STR that's showing I drew the poles and wires for the ST and now the next step is to get one electric locomotive to operate... as a diesel with the pole up. I took a copy of STRC 20 and changed the line from electric to diesel. I compared the Engine file to one from Rick's BL-2s that I know works in both MSTS and OR and moved a few lines to match. The dieselized electric works fine in MSTS but the cab sounds are different in OR and it just won't move.

If someone could have a look at the ENG file and let me know what I've missed, it would be appreciated!

Attached File  STRC_20d.eng (18.18K)
Number of downloads: 398

You can try to go to the extended HUD for Locomotive Information and look if you find some strange parameter.
At a first glance at least lines like the following ones are missing compared to a Dash 9:
In Wagon section:
	IntakePoint ( 3.33 0.4 FuelDiesel )

In Engine section:
	RunUpTimeToMaxForce ( 30.0 )
	MaxDieselLevel( 4720gal )
	MaxTemperature ( 120 )
	MaxOilPressure ( 90 )
	DieselEngineIdleRPM( 315 )
	DieselEngineMaxRPM( 900 )
	DieselEngineSpeedOfMaxTractiveEffort( 13mph )
	DieselEngineMaxRPMChangeRate( 40 )
	EngineVariables ( 5300 )

The last one, that usually is after the engine controllers, indicates the diesel level at game start.

I eventually copies a 44 tonner engine file and changed that to better represent the electric, but left out any reference that would make it think it was electric. It runs in OR but most of the cab interior sounds do not work, I think they may be linked to sounds from the original MSTS electric sounds.
