After sorting out thousands of errors Conbuilder found in my TRAINSET, I finally was able to fire up the sim again today, after 3 months since the last time.

However, I got a big disappointment: The attached ENG file is error-free according to Conbuilder, yet somehow it makes ORTS crash upon loading an activity containing that file. It simply errors out with a window appearing that contains the text of the last message in the log file.

Attached File  sfdash8.eng (33.18K)
Number of downloads: 160

Attached File  OpenRailsLog.txt (12.44K)
Number of downloads: 168

What´s going on here? Said file worked fine about half a year ago.

Cheers, Markus

The error message suggests something about the unit of measure is wrong with line 366:
	AirBrakesAirUsedPerPoundsOfBrakePipePressure( 1.4 )

I'm not familiar with that line so I've no idea what the problem is.

BTW your friction data is roughly equivalent to that of a maglev train. :sign_rockon:

The way I read the log file, it´s referring to line 366 in some .CS file, not the ENG file. I might be missing something, however, as I´m definitely not good at extracting relevant info from such a wealth of things I don´t have a clue of.

Cheers, Markus

According to the log, this error is related to the cvf file, not the eng.

Marcus, just yesterday I had a cvf crash OR. I had been writing in the ORTSfont line and goofed. I wrote ...... ORTSfont 10 0 ( "Quartz MS" ) when of course it should have been ORTSfont ( 10 0 "Quartz MS" )
Took me a while to see my error. Went right over that misplaced paraenthesis.
Check out the CVF for the engine that seems to be crashing OR

I will take a look (and upload the file, if necessary) as soon as I´m back at my PC (currently on duty until tomorrow evening).

Cheers, Markus

:) again for your comments, guys. :friends:

Yes, the CVF file was the offending one, containing this: EngineData ( " ) (one " missing around the null string).

Nowm after changin the line to EngineData ( "" ) , this loco loads just fine :cheers3:

However, as always in life, it seems, one problem resolved means another one discovered. But that´s for another thread.

Cheers, Markus
