Releasing the brakes

Hi,
I am of the understanding that the BC should be at 0 for the brakes to be fully released.
With some locos and some consists the BC value does not go to 0.
Is there a key on the keyboard that would force the brakes to fully release or speed up the brake release?
Regards Geoff.

There is the "initialze brakes" command (IDK what the default key assignment is, please look it up) which should do that. However, if the brakes are not releasing to some sort of bug in either ORTS or the engine files, this will be of little help.
BTW, have you looked at the brake info HUD page, for some longer time (you can speed up game time) - what happens if you wait long enough?
Can you post some screenshots?
Cheers, Markus

Posting the names of these locos and consist might help others help you. I don't know about the rest of the folks here, but I flunked Mind Reading 101.

Hi,
This is an example loco that can be downloaded.
It takes 2hrs at 5.6kbs unless some one has paid thetrain.de for the fast download speed.
OR VERSION X2827

CONSIST SZD L-3688 4achsT solo
Note the BC stopped counting down at 3.3.

Hi
May I use this tread for my request? Would it be possible to change this notch: EngineBrakesControllerRunningStart to run as same as that one: EngineBrakesControllerNeutralHandleOffStart. It means to hold the pressure in brake cylinder as in MSTS.
There is my example of ENG setting:
Notch ( 0.0 0 EngineBrakesControllerReleaseStart )
Notch ( 0.5 0 EngineBrakesControllerRunningStart )
Notch ( 0.9 0 EngineBrakesControllerFullServiceStart )

Yes, of course. I will make the change. The engine brake notch controller function names recognition is quite incomplete. Honestly, I don't understand, why the code was written separately for it rather than reusing the train brake controller code... The root of these problems is that when the code faces an unrecognized name, it will use it as a dummy one, which means, if the particular notch is discrete, it will constantly keep the brake applied at 100%.

I'm having problems with my diesel locos. I've tried a few and the loco brake cylinder pressure never goes to zero. It will stop at 4 and the HUD will show a 7 percent application. If I bail the brakes it will go to zero. I'm using my raildriver when I have this problem. All is well using the keyboard. I've calibrated about 5 times now and still no luck.
