Hello, I hope I am in the correct area.

I have the new version of the L &PS and in the "Eng" files are some peculiar items, notably OKENG files and OKsd files.

What are these files for and how do they affect the way OR, RR and ConBuilder see these files?

I am still verifying some brake release issues, wip, and noticed these odd files, but they seem to be exactly the same as the regular files also in the folders. I have attached a copy of one of the files.

Thank You

Attached File(s)

Maybe some sort of backup or leftovers from Debugging?

Cheers, Markus

ConBuilder does not see these files. Because they are file extensions which have no meaning to ConBuilder.

I agree with Marcus. The creator forgot to remove some working files before releasing the ENG.

Yes, those files can be safely deleted.

I noticed that these "OKeng" files seem to have braking parameter values that are similar to traditional MSTS .eng files, while the active .eng files have the much smaller values. The .eng files are the first that I personally have seen that use "Brake Controller" type of brakes, and the values seem to be reduced by a factor approximately equal to the mass in tons.
Does MSTS calculate brake forces differently for "Controller" ? Does Open Rails ? Just wondering.
Maybe we shouldn't delete the files just now - they will be ignored anyhow with that .OKeng file ending.

Sid.

I found that same thing, that some parameters were different. As working files they make sense. I did try swapping some of the values out, but it really did not make a noticeable difference.
