This is a too small improvement to be put in the Developing features, so I put it here.
With release 2795 pressing Alt-F5 toggles between basic HUD and the last extended HUD selected. In other words, from any extended HUD you can return to the basic HUD with Alt-F5. If you press Alt-F5 again you return to the last extended HUD you selected. This last extended HUD is also saved on saves. At game start OR defaults to the locomotive extended HUD as last extended HUD.
