G'day All,

I'm not sure what to call it but i seem to have an issue with my open rails. When you for example press the horn there is a black subtitle box at the bottom of your screen that appears that tells you that your pressing the horn. Anyway this box seems to have disappeared and i can't seem to get it back. In other words now when i press the horn or move the throttle there is no popup title at the bottom of the screen. Can anyone help with getting it back please?

Thanks in advanced

There is a checkbox somewhere in ORTS` options menu (can´t recall where, and am nowhere near my PC to check it out) that reads something like ¨Turn Off control confirmations¨. Try changing it´s state (either ticking or unticking and try again, pls.

Cheers, Markus

We´re probably talking about an ORTS-related issue then. In order to debug it, however, you will need to povide us some more info.

First of all, try the run again, with the ¨Logging¨ checkbox near the start button ticked. Upload and attach the resulting OpebRailsLog.txt file, found on your desktop, to a post here.

Also, what was the last version of ORTS this feature worked in?
Which ¨symptoms¨ exactly are you seeing (or not seeing, for that matter)? E.g., does the complete textbox not appear, or does it appear empty (background there, text not).
Has this ever happened to you before and what FPS are getting on average (I noticed, low FPS could delay the string to appear)?

Cheers, Markus

A related query. Is there a way of truncating the width of this black box so that it is only for the length of the message and does not continue for most of the width of the screen?

The version it last worked, or the one you´re getting the error on.

The FPS looks OK, it only ever happened for me when in the low teens.

Cheers, Markus

Under the general tab in Options there is a tick box for Suppress Control Confirmations. Make sure there is no tick in the box if you want to see them.

Thanks for that! I'm stupid for not realizing that one :)

Thanks again :)
