Hi OR,

I placed trackside vegetation along the Conn River route in the last day, took a test run to see this evening and found the vegetation to be very bright and blinking. The vegetation was placed using a gantry for the most part, anything added that was not using the gantry does not blink and is not bright. I used the same files on the DAR and did not have any problems running in MSTS.

Sounds like the texture map needs changing out.
You'll need to go into ShapeFileManager to do it, tho.

I had same experience yesterday on one of my routes... it was with a forest object. Don't recall which texture, haven't been able to go retest.

There is a problem with instancing a large number of the same shape. Things jitter and sometimes jump sideways to the wrong location. Some polys disappear. It is reported here. Is that what you are seeing?

What I'm seeing is a constant flashing of the textures involved. Remember back when MSTS water flashed, just about like that. The lineside veggies don't appear to have moved, just flash. Maybe I'll try to take a few pictures in the two sims to show you what I'm seeing.

I also made up three files of grasses with and without a few bushes. For some reason they look as I'd expected in Shape Viewer but in OR they come out nearly black in some locations and in others some of the polygons are really dark while others in the same file are what I would have expected.

OK, after doing a couple of runs to take some shots it appears the blinking of the trackside vegetation and dark grasses are daytime related. The activity I ran yesterday started at 0800 and that's when I got the blinking and dark texturing. I tried another activity that started at 1200 and everything acted and appeared normal.... so, it's something to do with the ambient lighting.
