So I go to take a screenshot to make a joke on Facebook involving the hashtag #sps (Senior Picture Sunday) and SP&S 700. I fired up Open Rails and got set up when I noticed that the ground seemed to have fallen!

It may not be an OR issue, though, as the ground just doesn't show up in MSTS. Is this a recurring issue for anyone, or is it just me?

More problems ensued when I went to start up 700, as it took a lot to get her going. She wouldn't budge at all unless I cranked the throttle up to 100% and the reverser to 75, in which she would slip for one rotation and then plod along at 2.3 mph max. I tried her out in MSTS and she worked perfectly. Is there a way to fix this kind of problem in OR, maybe with one of Markus Gelbmann's inventive tools?

I hate to burst your bubble, Dustin, but I believe it's a sign telling you not to give up your day job. http://www.elvastower.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/discuss_gathering.gif

(It is an interesting sight, though.)

Cheers Bazza.

Have you been messing with Mosaic? Looks like the mapping of the terrtex to the the terrain tiles may be at a funky resolution in your ORTS shot, and MSTS simply gave up trying to interpret the .T file (which Mosaic updates).

The last time I ran #700 in OR there were no problems. Just tried it on a French route and with all brakes released and light engine, moved off with 27% on the reverser and 17% throttle.

Hmm, methinks something is screwy elsewhere (operator error?) Mine also works fine in ORTS & MSTS

You do indeed have a route problem!.

I have seen a problem resembling this described here but not this messy, just temporarily ( a few seconds missing terretex when switching views.

regards,

vince

I'm not sure what my problem with 700 is. Perhaps it might have been the train I was pulling.

I don't even have Mosaic. I have no clue how my issue even happened.
