Found this "leaping" string in the yard. It's a six car string from folder 3DTrains_WP_Freight, GX-LPBoxString06.wag.
I don't know how it got in the CSX Marrietta Yard on the CSX A&WP Sub. :)
Activity CSX Q-617 Wagon file attached
OR X2576

After seeing Herb's flying circus of wagons, posting a leaper is a little embarrassing. Ordinarily I would suspect the file. Could it be a bug in OR?

From another angle the wagons are not leaping, but curved. And then I thought :) Is this string supposed to be for a curve??
I may be the one leaping to conclusions here.

...and we thought, for well over a decade, that MSTS had first dibs on weirdness! http://www.elvastower.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/ranting.gif

Cheers Bazza.

That is amazingly weird. If you turn on TDB debugging (Control-Alt-F6) does the track curve at all or is it straight as they come?

Looked at the s file in shape viewer. The string is built on a curve.

May I ask for a teaching moment Eric? What specifically in the s file tipped you off. Pretty much everything in there, except for the images (aces) is still foreign to me.

I have not used TDB debugging, I'll give it a try. Although in this case I suspect it's moot. The track in question is in a yard, all other track sections appear straight and Eric said the s file indicated the string was made for a curve. Sorry for the false alarm.

I used Shape Viewer to view the string.

Well............of course. I was just looking at it in small version, can't tell a thing, looks straight enough. When you enlarge the view and tilt it for a top view, the curve is quite apparent!
