The title sums it up pretty much, so here´s the extensive explanation :rotfl:
On my recent round trip through the southwest, I also had the chance to take a few (well, actually that means about 6 GB or 40 minutes of) railfan videos and now I´m trying to get documented what all I captured. It´s a PITA at times, with the numbers hardly readable in some cases. Same was the case here, until I took a screen-grab and enlarged it. No doubt, this IS BNSF 163 - even though it´s listed nowhere.
But what type of loco is it?

Possibly you need to download the image, open it in your image viewer and zoom in a little.
Having looked at various roster listings, all state 161 and 162 to be wide cab GP60Ms. The next thing they list is 168 as a standard cab GP60 (that means 163 thru 167 are not listed in 3 roster lists / don´t exist). Obviously, we also are talking about a standard cab unit (no wide cabs in freightbonnet), and likely a GP60 (looking at the roster listings), but I can´t be sure about it. Heck, I can´t even see from the pic, don´t even think recall, if it was a 6-axle or 4-axle unit.
I can definitely say it is NOT 168 what´s written on the side of the cab there. I´m quite sure the second number is 6, but not totally - it could be 5 when not looking closely, but that would also be illogical, as it would make this patient a wide-cabbed GP60M. 186 would also be thinkable, but that number isn´t listed either. 761 would also be illogical again, as that number already goes to a Dash 9...
Anybody got some clues?
Cheers, Markus
PS: Yes, the second unit in the photo IS a GP60M ;)

The dynamick brake blister suggests a GP-60.

:rotfl: Paul, that confirms my feelings. :D
Ain´t it strange it´s not listed one three roster websites (RR Picture Archives, Trainpix.com, trains.com (OK, that one´s from 2009), though?
EDIT: Found one that lists it! http://www.thedieselshop.us/BNSF.HTML
;) again, nevertheless :)

Yep, that's a GP60. To make way for some new SD70ACes, BNSF renumbered their GP60s to come right after the GP60M numbers. We have what used to be 8707 on our Buck Local from Longmont to Lyons. She came up here on an intermodal after a bit of absence with the number 166. I'm assuming you caught what used to be 8704.

I´m wondering where 163 might have been heading then... She and the wide.cab GP60 behind her did not appear to be running - no smoke, no heat flimmer, but can´t tell about the sound - those GEVOs simply were too proud of their FDL sound :rotfl:

BNSF has also renumbered their SD75i/SD75Ms in the 8200 range to the 200 range, to make room for ES44C4s. I guess this means I have some more patching to do in MSTS.
