It depends on how you use "helpers" - in original MSTS activities, the engine is the same for all helpers, thus ORTS creates copies of the first one. If you are using different engines or skins (different eng files), ORTS will create one new diesel locomotive for each. The first case (set of copies) introduced the 10 tons problem. The second case was not a problem.

It seems to be ok now.

Ah, now I understand what the problem was, and why my test train performed no differently in different versions of OR.
