A friend of mine is having problems with some activities not starting properly. The latest is on the KHP2 route with a 3rd party activity. He sent it to me, I set it up on my computer and it works.

Comparing the two log files the glaring difference is in the size of the Loader expected figure, Mine which works is Loader: Expected = 48,642,214 bytes, his where the cab controls do not operate is Loader: Expected = 41,869,065 bytes, quite a bit smaller.

The other major difference is that his log is missing these lines,
Localizing '[LocalizableObjectAdapter: Source=System.Windows.Forms.Label, Text: m]'
Localizing '[LocalizableObjectAdapter: Source=System.Windows.Forms.Label, Text: Res]'
Localizing '[LocalizableObjectAdapter: Source=System.Windows.Forms.UpDownBase+UpDownButtons]'
Localizing '[LocalizableObjectAdapter: Source=System.Windows.Forms.UpDownBase+UpDownEdit, Text: 5000]'
Localizing '[LocalizableObjectAdapter: Source=System.Windows.Forms.NumericUpDown, Minimum = 80, Maximum = 200000]'
Localizing '[LocalizableObjectAdapter: Source=System.Windows.Forms.Button, Text: View Train]'
Localizing '[LocalizableObjectAdapter: Source=System.Windows.Forms.PictureBox, SizeMode: Normal]'
Localizing '[LocalizableObjectAdapter: Source=ORTS.Debugging.DispatchViewer, Text: DispatchViewer]'

His full log is attached.

It runs fine for me too.
I think your friend may have some corrupt files.

The question is, what files are likely to be corrupt for his log and my log are identical apart from those differences. and the lack of any sound reports, because the activity ceases to work after the player train loads.

This problem has disappeared with the issue of X2334, so no idea about what was not loading originally.

Hi,

since OR experimental version X 2396 I cannot resume saved activities on narrow gauge route "C&S NG South Park Line 1905".

Regards

Joe

Hi Joe, are you trying to resume saves made by an earlier release of ORTS, or saves made with exactly x2396? The latter usually should work, the previous does not work always, depending on code changes between two revisions (the older the revision a save was made with, the more unlikely it is to work in the current one).

Cheers, Markus

Hi Markus,

I tried to resume saves of x2396 and of x2402 and failed. Then I downloaded and installed x2394 again and saves could be resumed properly. So I use x2394 till I get a later release that works.

Regards ( Grüße nach Österreich)

If saves made by X2396 don´t work in X2396, that´s not good. I guess we´re talking about a bug then. Do you have a log file? That could maybe help those knowledgeable enough to look into the problem.

Grüße nach Deutschland, Markus

Hi again Joe,

a similar issue has now been brought up by an (ex-)ORTSDeveloper (roeter) who identified the problem in his case lying in the transmission details of a DMU. So, your problem could be related, if you are using geared diesel locos / DMUs with automatic transmission. Could you please provide these details?

Cheers, Markus

Hi,

This latest problem should be fixed in revision 2407.
