Hello all. I've been trying to get OR to run without much luck. Each time I try and run it, I get this error message. I've done some reading through the forum, and came upon this thread that suggested to un-check two boxes called "curve dependent resistance" and "curve dependent speed limit". The problem is, is that they were not checked off from the beginning. Is there something else I'm doing wrong? I get the same or similar error message (I don't read the entire thing letter-for-letter) irregardless of which MSTS install I point it to, which route I run, or which locomotive I choose. Is there something I'm just plain missing, or is there something else going on here? Thanks!

This error message means that you are missing files that come with Open Rails. Where did you download Open Rails from and what did you use to extract the zip file?

I didn't want to start another topic for this error message that i have been getting for the last 4 or 5 weekly experimental versions.

Happens when i shut down OR and before the Menu screen re-appears.

Screenie attached.

Any ideas please guys ?

I've seen that error, too. I suspect it comes up when something goes wrong with the update check, like when my cable internet drops out randomly. :)

I haven't had as many problems once I switched to downloading from the nightly builds, though.

But it's a completely different error message. It's also a known problem: https://bugs.launchp...or/+bug/1268395

Yup i know it is a different error message to that reported in the OP.

It's not well known to me, i stopped reporting bugs when i kept getting told they were not important.

So i have had no reason to visit the launchpad site for nearly 12 months.

This one looks to be largely non-fatal, but it's given high priority in the bug tracker, so it's likely to be taken care of soon. It never caused me any problem other than looking untidy and tweaking my OCD. Lots of bugs are getting fixed or close to it these days, and a lot of progress on features, too. Definitely worth it to keep up now, if you've been dabbling in OR off and on. But I should shuffle off and not hijack the thread now...;)
