HI!

An electric locomotive extremely well detailed both from the outside and inside.
Not only a 3D cab fully functional but we can enter in the loco, upright and open the doors, get inside and access to the driving cab. You can start the engine cold, open and close some panels, activate several functions and run it. Finally we must close everything, turn out the knobs and go outside. A bit like this happens in reality.

Admire the refinement of detail of this russian EP2K.
See these two videos full from our Russian colleagues, it's definitely worth a look.

What more to say!
In plus, available in freeware. I downloaded and installed it.
The problem is how to operate in FULL3D? The instruction manual in PDF is write in russian and naturelly it's cyrillic alphabet
I ask me also, if there has not been some modifications of the OR code ?
In the cabview folder, we can see a DLL - EP2K.dll - Is this file can stay here or to put in one OR or windows folders?
To make it works in traditional maner in OR, I make some few simple changes in the ENG folder.

The sounds are write like this:

RTSExteriorSound ( "../../tro_EP2k-Alias/Sound/tro_ep2k-eng.sms" )

I rewrote it like this:

comment ( RTSExteriorSound )

Sound ( "..\\..\\tro_EP2k-Alias\\Sound\\tro_ep2k-eng.sms" )

And it works like this.

Same thing for the sounds in cab, but that does not seem to work. Why? I don't know!.

For the cab although a specified path to the cabin, there isn't no CVF file in the cabview folder.
Therefore, I wrote a CVF file and took 3 screenshots for the cab in 2D view without commands.
Since OR doesn't like the CVF file with only 3 views, I added 2 digital controls, a clock and a speedometer.
At least as I can still use it in OR pending to learn more about the possibilities to drive it in FULL 3D.

WONDERBAR!

Great.
But:
Where to locate this loco?

Cheers.

Hi!

Yes very nice shadows.
About this DLL file in the cabview folder EP2K.dll - Really I don't know the purpose of this file and more important where to place it.
It's very intriguing! Only a programmer can give us a good answer, I think.

@ RTP : You can download it on TRAIN-RTS-OR - no need to be member but it's whrite only in russian language.

http://train-rts-or.ru/

There is many tro_EP2K locomotives and Cabview & sounds are included in the same file tro_EP2K_Alias.exe.

Cheers!

This stuff is not for OpenRails. It is a custom Russian stuff, to be used with their own program.

Is their program a fork of Open Rails or has it nothing to do with OR?

It has nothing to do with that, as far as I have seen for the first look. (But these videos made me think to make it possible to show the 3D cab and the normal locomotive shape at the same time, which idea has been voted down in 3D cabs thread.)

Its name is RTrainSim, downloadable from here: http://disk.zaborin.ru/

I'll read why you got down voted, the vid seems to show that this is possible ??

;-)

Interesting sim, they also have a nice repaint function. I think it results in the need of only one 3d file etc.
Below I found in a forum post on a russian site.
Repaint (
	Shape ( "../tsrLoco_chme3-5775/tsrLoco_chme3-5775.s" )
	ShapeDescription ( "../tsrLoco_chme3-5775/tsrLoco_chme3-5775.sd" )
	TextureReplace ( "tsrLoco_chme3-5775_1.ace" "tsrLoco_chme3-4287_1.ace" )
	TextureReplace ( "tsrLoco_chme3-5775_2.ace" "tsrLoco_chme3-4287_2.ace" )
	TextureReplace ( "tsrLoco_chme3-5775_3.ace" "tsrLoco_chme3-4287_3.ace" )
)

Is this an OR only feature? How does this works?
