Have any of you using Open rail after the sim starts all of the terrain is missing. It happens to me on a few of my MSTS routes. Is there a "fix" for this problem? I don't want to list all of the routes that do this unless it would be helpful.

What do you mean "the terrain is missing", does the terrain display at all or is there just track, buildings, trees etc hanging in a white space.

I have never had OR start up and not display the selected route correctly.

When the problem occurs what does the log file say, an icon for this appears on the desktop when OR starts. It would be a REAL good idea to post it here so we can see what is happening.

Nate, extending what Lindsay says, post here (in zipped form) OpenRailsLog.txt -you find it on the desktop- , and if you have problems in that, at least indicate route name, location where terrain disappears and OR version you are using.

Whatever he's got, I've seen it too. Water layers show, no other terrain.

Since I first started using MSTS in March, 2013 ( a mere child) and continuing into Open Rails, parts of the terrain in all routes (only the highest quality payware seems immune for the most part) has flickered, disappeared, changed appearance and done all manner of jerking, flicking, dancing, etc. In Clinch Valley at the Cedar Bluff Wye, if you are stopped and use the heads out view the river bed goes from full to dry, then the cycle starts all over again! I guess there's a drought every where. I just thought it was a pecularity of MSTS routes, that would eventually disappear once people started building routes for OR using a Route Toolset made for OR. After all the RE is not state of the art of anything.

Here is an example. If I just for fun run the Hamilton-Norfolk v1.1 route in explorer path Willow-Parkerburg. When Open Rail starts the route all that you see is the track and the buildings, and no other terrain. I have Open Rail V 0.9.0.1648.

Please try a more recent version of OpenRails. r1648 is very-very outdated.

I'm waiting for a new version of OpenRail. The Web site only has V 0.9.0.1648. If a newer version is out. Where can I d/l it?

Have a look at http://www.openrails.org/release.html
specficly "Download OR pre-v1.0 and install automatically" This contains the very new windows installer so must be recent, or else try........

http://james-ross.co...jects/or/builds
The top most one in the list,
This site contains OR automaticly built from the latest SVN release.
Note: This site has the LATEST release and is definitely bleeding edge software, it usually works OK though. It would be very safe to say this version is being run by a lot of people.
