Edit: A minor point: the smallest useable font appears to be a value of 3 on a 1024 vertical frame. If the numerical font size value is not a magic number, could the numerical values be larger so that there are more increments of size available in the smaller fonts? In one of the locos above, the best value is about 4.

Probably the simplest option is to allow floating point values, although bear in mind that the font rasterisation will almost certainly not be precisely right.

My proposed patch already allows floating point values for font size (I wrote "real" :sign_oops: in my previous post). Sid, you can try putting 3.5 or 3.75 or whatever you like as font size.

To both you & James-
Thanks, I should have noticed that in the text of the patch!

BTW, the consists that I have been using to test the patch work in MSTS without any visible changes.

Cheers,
Sid

I am attaching three screen captures using the Santucci patch. The locos are in the same consist, so they are running in the same activity.
The smallest font shown is size 4. Click on the thumbnails to get the full size of the screen. Look at the indicators showing the brake pressures.

The last screen dump includes the HUD and other display items to compare the size of the font.

Cheers,
Sid.

As the "third party test" (Sid) was positive and I didn't get negative remarks, I'll make some small further check and then I foresee to commit the patch.

I think it looks like a pretty reasonable change.
