Hello,

just upgraded to version 2182 (from 2176), and find that water is switching on and off. It happens per tile and quite frequent.
Not seen such behaviour before.

Regards,
Rob Roeterdink

This is a known issue with a change made in http://www.elvastowe...tomatic-builds/.

That may be so, but I feel that the present 'cure' (the code now inserted which causes havoc with water levels), is much worse then the original 'ailment' (the crash when moving along cars in a train).
The crash can easily be avoided - just don't move along the train that fast.
Water, on the other hand, cannot be avoided at all and most routes have water along the tracks of one sort or another. The present behaviour of the water is very disconcerting, and in particular so ofcourse when running along coastal routes.

So - might I suggest to revert the change which brought on these problems and reinstate the old code until a solution can be found which both avoids the crash and leaves the water in place?

Regards,
Rob Roeterdink

Rob,
It is already known how to have both water showing correctly and crash avoided. There are at least three valid options (see posts from 61 to 63 in the thread linked by James). Someone enabled to commit has only to commit any one of the three patches.

By the way the crash comes out even if you move slowly along the train, as discovered and documented later, and is a problem that not only affects myself, but also users of some German routes.

Yes, this is a tough one. From the users point of view, it is bummer when something that worked is now...well broken. I would suggest that this one be given some effort to fix quickly. The flashing/strobe water is a show stopper (as per Merriam Webster: one that stops or could stop the progress, operation, or functioning of something)! Fixing by breaking other things is not the way we want to go.

Thanks for all the very HARD work!

If you want a water as it used to be thanks to a patched rel. 2186 NOW, you can use this couple of Runactivities (standard and LAA):
Attached File  Runactivity_2186_patched.zip (1MB)
Number of downloads: 200

(Source patch used
Attached File  RenderFrame.cs.patch.zip (484bytes)
Number of downloads: 197 )

This issue was fixed in X2188. Please report your issue separately and with all the expected details of a new issue.
