X2186
Route Mariaspass Explorer-mode
I start the MSTS-Original-consist of one dash9 with 50 US2Chemicar at glacier park.
After release the brake completely, the train take 10s to reach speed of 5 m/h.

now I have changed the Parameters Friction in the wag-file us2chemicar.wag of this MSTS-Standard-car:
from:
Friction (
100N/m/s 1 -1mph 0 1
5.1N/rad/s 1 -1rad/s 0 1
to:
Friction (
1N/m/s 1 -1mph 0 1
5.1N/rad/s 1 -1rad/s 0 1

This modification has no effect!
this train take again 10s to reach the speed of 5M/h

Is that a error in my modification or in the ORTS???

No, it is an error in the original values you were using.

Consider this: The force of gravity on 1kg is around 950N,give or take a few. Your original starting resistance is 100N! No wonder there is no real difference when you change it to 1. Given that Mass() on your car is ~117t the first value of friction should be well north of 1000N. All the other values you have are wrong as well.

I recommend you get fcalc2 and use what it suggests.

Now I have measured more exactly
If I enter 1N/m/s
the Train "one Dash9 with 50 Chemicalcars" at Glacier Park Heading to Glacier Park
take 28s to reach a speed of 5 M/h
If I enter 100'000'000 N/m/s
the Train take also 28 s to reach this speed
I can't see any effect of this parameter????

If I do the same in my totally flat test bed, this Train take 40s to reach that speed in both case.
So the track at glacier Park seems not to bee totally flat, but I have taken this place in standard-MSTS , so you can easily control the results.

There are many of long threads with a lot of discussions about friction and fcalc

The only thing I would like to know:
Does the OR use the Friction - Parameter from MSTS in the Wag-File (I can't feel any influence) ?
Exist there other ORTS-Parameter for the wag-File witch has a influence on the Friction
or is the friction-calculation fix coded?

In this thread:
http://www.elvastowe...__1#entry147850
I can't open the this File!!
"Click here to download this file"
Perhaps I can find here the answer?

That file has been pulled because it had an error in it. I should replace it later today... and no, it won't answer your question about what OR does or does not do with friction().

Or use the friction value after 5 mph.
Between 0-5 mph is
Roller bearing 12 * wagon weight =Lbs
Solid Bearing 20 * wagon weight =lbs (default)
More of this

There is written:
"If OR is told that this is a roller bearing wagon, then the SR should instead be = 2982 N"

How can I tell the OR that this is a roller bearing wagon ???
A new ORTS Parameter in the *.wag file?

You get to read everything written in the thread to get all the info
It's not so easy ...
But it does not solve your problem anyway but the friction becomes smaller
but up to 5 mph if not used values in wag file

Thanks for your Help...

I have found in a lot of this long threads:

IF I ADD IN THE *.WAG-File

ORTSBearingType ( Roller )

The Train (one Dash9 + 50 Chemical-Cars) reach 5 M/h in my flat Test-Route in about 22s
Instead of 40s without this NEW OR-PARAMETER

To tell ORTS this is a roller bearing unit add ORTSBearingType ( Roller ) to the wag file.
