I don't understand why this occurs:

here is the light section:

With a fire that big, the guys in the caboose would be naked with fans blowing on them and still sweating like an Amazon rainfall! :pardon:

I first noticed that when doing some test running on the Tri-State. I did not bother looking into it at the time, but as I have other engines that do not have that problem, I suspect it is something to do with how the flicker effect is set up, or the ace file properties.

I've had the same thing happen with other locomotives. I just eliminated the entire firebox lights section from the eng file and that took care of the problem.

May I ask in which OR version it occurred first time?

This has happened since the very start of Open Rails. I noticed it with a few of Dick Cowen's models. I simply removed the firebox light section all together rather than spend hours trying to fiddle and get it sorted. Not a good solution, but doable. I copied the section into a temporary file however, in case someone, or myself, decide to fiddle and spend hours on it.

Back in June or July 2013 it was also discussed in this thread

http://www.elvastowe...__1#entry125609

Walter Conklin posted in that same thread that a bug report had been filed. Some said it was the azimuth, another thought it had to do with Tiles. The situation I found changed with angle of view.

Well this old issue was new to me.

I've taken the easy way out and just deleted the firebox lights from the .eng file.

Thanks all for your comments!
