Freight animation issue in OR

Walter
There are two issues with FreightAnim in OR that I am aware of. First is what you see there, and can be seen in other models such as FA's attached to steam tenders where it sits too high. The second is where you have a crew figure animation such as those used in steam locomotives. That gets displayed near the smokebox, even when the FA is not part of the eng file. Not sure yet why this is.

Hi Walter,
What is your FOV setting? Perhaps try experimenting with a longer FOV for cabviews on widescreen monitors/resolutions.

It may indeed be a problem because of widescreen - try setting the cab view stretch to 100% if it isn't already.

Hi James,
I'm not familiar with 'cab view stretch'. Where would I set that?
Here is what I have in my cabview file:
Quote
Tr_CabViewFile (
CabViewType ( 2 )
CabViewFile ( ../../Common.Cab/BLW_Cab/SW/SW_Frnt1024.ace )
CabViewWindow ( 0 0 1600 1200 )
CabViewWindowFile ( "" )
Position ( 1.08 3.369 -3.213 )
Direction ( -2.5 0 0 )
I know that I could change the 'Y' value of the position, but that does not explain why this works correctly in MSTS and not in OR.
Thanks
Rick

If you´re using a 16x9 aspect ration (e.g. 1366x768 px) try 35° vertical viewing FOV. It´s a value that I´ve taken one and a half hour of fiddling around to find, so that all of my ten different test cabs (some with, some without FA) looked good and were facing the right direction.
