Hi
I wanted to start an activity, freight train with diesel loco. The loco pulls OK, even got wheel spin warning when increasing loco power, but the train is just stuck. When uncoupling the waggons the loco happily drives away. But the waggons appear to be braked. I've released the handbrakes with : conncected the air hoses with ' and put pressure on the system with \ At no use. Something I have missed?

Regards

Sven

Are the engine and the wagons on the same braking system? ie: vacuum, single pipe, etc'.

Hi,
first of all, you can try to look at the F5 HUD view / BRAKE INFO. If your train brake is fully released, you should see no brake cylinder pressure (BC 0). Sometimes, due to poor ENG/WAG settings, locomotive train brake controller is not compatibile with the rest of the train.
If every brake in the train is released, you can start to pull the throttle up gently, not to 100% - the wheelslip can kill the tractive force. You should see the train stretching (F5 HUD view - Coupler slack).
You can also switch to F5 HUD view / FORCE INFO. If some train car has significantly higher Friction value, it could be also caused by wrong settings in the WAG file.
If you still need some assistance, the consist information would be very helpful. If you are using 3rd party (no MSTS) train set, some download links would be appreciated too.

Cheers

Matej

Thanks.
Yes, the BC is 0. Also the air pressure in the system seems to be OK, with the EOT value equalling the first BP value. Yes, the train stretches a bit so it feels that some waggon has the brakes on.
Those ENG/WAG settings, what are these, and how can I find them to check them?

Regards

Sven

If this line (below) states the same within the brackets in every train database file (.eng or .wag), your rolling stock in the consist is all using the same brake setup:

	BrakeSystemType( "Air_single_pipe" )

Cheers, Markus
