Trying to run a ProTrain application (PT 16) I immidiately gets a big error message when I switch on the RailDriver. And it bugs out. It says a lot of things, but the main theme seems to be that a lot of things are "out of range". It says stuff like
System.ThrowHelper.Throw argument uUt of RangeException
amd continues like this:
ORTS.MSTSNotchController.SetRDPercent(Single Percent)
ORTSMSTS Locomotive.SetDynamicBrakePercent
and so on.

Meaning?

Question#2: When I couple cars to the locomotive the train will not move a single meter. Loc wheels are spinning but the cars seem braked. How do I release the car brakes?
Question #3: What dos the tick boxes on the OR main window mean, "logging" and "windowed"?
Question #4: In the OR main screen I can use the button "test". It looks nice, it somehow runs through the whole application, but what's the use of it. Something I ought to do each time before running an application?

Greetings

Sven

Can´t offer help and asnwers to all your questions and problems, but to a few:

RE Q#2: You first have to connect the brake hoses on the train, using the + key (IIRC; otherwise it´s the # key; or you cunstomize those inputs in options/keyboard). Then you have to wait for the brakes to release, or you initialise them using Shift -.

RE Q#3: "Logging" ticked turns ORTS´s logger on, that keeps track of things going on in the background. So, in case something like your "out of memory" problems occur, you can send the ORTS log file (a .txt created on your desktop) to the developers form them to investigate.
"Windowed" makes ORTS start in windowed mode, IE ORTS does not cover the whole screen, but run in a window like your browser. Useful feature when running according to orders not programmed into an activity and it is also needed to run "windowed" when wanting to use the dispatcher window (Ctrl 9) as you can´t switch to it otherwise.

BTW, seeing this is you first post: :) to ET, enjoy your stay :)

Cheers, Markus

Thanks, Markus.
BTW, is it known that some ProTrain addons do not work with ORTS? PT 3 and 16 is no good.

It helps if you give some more details : which routes are these (we do not all know those numbers by head), what are the problems, is there any information in the log-files etc.
Remarks just like this are no great help.

Rob Roeterdink
