In the thread CN Bala2 activity CN 31451:

markus_GE (markus) posted: "OpR" is far less likely to be confused with the logical connector "or" than is the abbreviation "OR" for Open Rails. And it´s shorter to write than "ORTS"

cjakeman (Chris Jakeman) replied: All true, but the brand is "OR" and the logo shows "OR" and we've no plans to change.

From a new perspective I have conflated the above two posts and arrived at this logical conclusion:

Given that "or" is a logical connector would that not make "OR" the logical connector of MSTS to the future in train simulation?

Just speculatin' :lol2: :) (can we use that as the registered slogan, trademark, or whatever for Open Rails: "Open Rails the logical connector for Train Simulation")

So what you are saying is that I should not start a career in advertising unless it is with a Limburger cheese manufacturer? :lol2: :)

I'm probably moreguilty than most in causing confusion because I will occasionally type OR as an emphatic expression of choice: one OR the other. :lol2:

From everything I've read above I hereby revise the slogan to "Open Rails, the logical Train Simulator" (ORTS)

OpR feels slightly stilted to me, but, that's my opinion

From a marketing stance, I think it's great.

"It's either MSTS and OR nothing else" - says it all right there. :lol2:

Almost looks like Boolean Algebra to me, which is very fitting to the open-source, coding oriented nature of the program.

Was just thinking the same after reading the first post in this thread. :lol2:

Well, then, I´ll try to revert my thoughts to ORTS, hope I can manage to do so. Took quite a bit to remind me everytime i was writing about "OR", that I wanted to write "OpR"..

Anyway, this abbreviation will then be inconfusible, I hope :D

Cheers, Markus
