I have just noticed that the bell is not sounding continuously when activating with either the keyboard or RailDriver. It worked fine in X1908.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

The bell key now works suposedly like MSTS now. It only works if you keep pressing the key. Though if I recall correctly, if you make the combination of Shift+B, it should maintain the bell making sound continuosly. :fool:

Perhaps it is an issue specific to RailDriver. However, it is impossible to have the bell sound continuously using RD unless you keep the bell key depressed. As recently as X1908, the bell was activated continuously by simply pressing the bell key. It would be deactivated by pressing the key again. This is no longer the case.

Correct... a feature implemented in version 1921 (January 4th).

Just tested X1920 and X1922, both released on January 4, and both downloaded from the OR automatic builds site. When using X1920, I was able to get the continuous bell to sound in two ways; by hitting the B key on the keyboard or hitting the Bell button (as opposed to keeping the button depressed) on RailDriver. Combining Shift + B did not result in the continuous bell. As mentioned above, things changed so that when I use X1922 I can, indeed, get a continuous bell sound by hitting Shift + B, identical to way that a continuous bell can be sounded in MSTS. However, the continuous bell is no longer activated either by hitting B on the keyboard or the Bell button on the Raildriver unit. This continues up to X1927.

It is true that Shift + 7 now (starting with X1921) activates the bell; however, it also appears that the RailDriver unit is no longer able to activate the bell unless you keep it Bell button depressed.

IMHO, this is an example of a case where making the behavior the same as MSTS
is the WRONG thing to do. I vote to put the Bell Key back to its pre-x1921 behavior.

Are you talking about the B key or the RailDriver bell key? (Also, have you tried r1929 already?)

I do use both keys but mostly the Raildriver bell key. I am still at Revision x1927. I will pick up the latest
in a few minutes. By the way, I would like to thank you, Peter, for implementing the Sound Triggers 1 and
2 for Steam Locomotives (I believe you are the person that did it). Now Steamers drift with the throttle
closed properly. That is the 'Last Nail' in MSTS's coffin for me.

Just tested X1929. I'm happy to say that a continuous bell can be activated from the keyboard using the SHIFT + B combination as well as from RailDriver using the Bell button. Many thanks to the Open Rails team for addressing this.
