When I close any activity by ESC and mouseclick in the Window on "Quit Open Rails (Alt+F4)"
I get a error message on the screen, showing a wrong path:
C:\users\james\documents\... ???
When I click OK on this message, I get the OpenRail-Menue and all is OK
This Problem is new since the new OR-Startscreen

Got this too a few time in X1910 (from James´s website) yesterday evening, but didn´t have time to report it.

Usually it doesn´t cause problems at all, just that pop up window to be clicked away. Just in one (of 15) case yesterday, I got a problem reloading a specific save, in that it took for AGES to load. Then everything was back to normal.

I´m sorry, there do exist no log files of this problem (I usually have logging turned off) and relaoding that save again gave me no problem...

Cheers, Markus

I need to know which version of Open Rails you are running. I tried this means of quitting in the latest version (X1919) and every time (I tried 5 times) it quit fine.

The path is correct - you are using one of my experimental builds. The source locations shown on any stack trace are always from the computer which compiled the program (my computer). They have nothing to do with the computer which is running the program (your computer). :)

I have used X1916 from last Friday for this test.
But there is the same Message with X1919.
This Errormessage exist since the new Startscreen.
I get this message every time when I close the activity this way.
There is no other problem, I can click OK and get the ORTS-Menu and can start another activity.
I use Windows 7 64 bit.

It is a bit of a strange error, since I can't see any obvious way for the variable in question to become null (especially not when shutting down). Technically it didn't even change with the new loading screen, although plenty of stuff around it did. I don't think I can fix this for now, as I can't see what's wrong nor reproduce it locally. Sorry.

My findings from today: The problem is more likely to occur the longer a session has not been interrupted. IE, Directly after startup, you will most likely not run into the problem. Having run for an hour, however, the chance is 90% you get this problem, especially if you have done a savegame during the session.

Cheers, Markus

I get this errormessage by every closing with this procedure.
But it is not a "real problem".

Well, I don´t - and probably that´s why James didn´t get it when he tried (I suppose, he loaded an activity and immediately quit it again).

Anyway, you got the exact smae error message as I did, so these bits must be interrelated.

Cheers, Markus
