This is a model I made a few years ago for Railworks which I have just converted for Open Rails. The model is approx. 7,800 polys, in a single 1,600m LOD.

The model is untested in either MSTS or Open Rails, despite this, it should work okay in OR.

Hello Captain Bazza!

Great work - I like these old and very weathered texture on the hull of your ship.

Hope one day you converted for OR some other RW ships of you. Like these two tankers SS Loch Lomond and the beautiful Coatal tanker made some years ago. No tankers are available for MSTS or OR until now.

Keep Up your great ships Mr. Munro, I love it.

Thanks, Nicober. Unfortunately my RW models were high poly and may not all be suitable for conversion. I done a few and had no adverse feedback, but the RYDE and some of those freighters might be too much for MSTS, although they may scrap into Open Rails.

Cheers Bazza

I had a couple of old photos of the 'abandoned' vessels, but I used GE and measured the vessel, in this 2001 dated view of Barnstaple, Devon, UK, using GE's measuring tool. It was surprisingly accurate. It too quite a bit of research, including asking Brits, what the vessel was. It turns out to have been a sand suction dredger, used in the area - Severn Estuary and River Taw. I also used GE to measure the PS RYDE, which was abandoned up a creek on the Isle of Wight, UK.

Here is a screen shot of the barge/dredger in 2001 GE. The barge and RYDE are now razor-blades, probably broken up for scrap....I know the RYDE was dismantled not long after I did the research on her.

Cheers Bazza

Some youtube clips of the sad sight of the RYDE are here:
