I really like the option of being able to increase rain intensity that has been added to OR. However, could their be a way to program the sim to increase the intensity to even a higher amount--to "torrential?" Also, I really can't tell if the parameter has been added to snow--I would love to see blizzard conditions in snow intensity.

Thanks again to the developers for listening to suggestions.

Have to second that: Having - at least visual - conditions available that would wash way the ROW or the Train itself, or having real White Outs (not only with fog) available would add hugely to realism and Options for activity creation :rotfl:

Cheers, Markus

I'm happy you like that! The feature is available for rain as well as for snow.
Increasing precipitation intensity requires a non negligeable increase in memory and in computation (every rain drop and snow flake requires bytes and computing time...), so I put a somehow arbitrary upper limit, that is about 2,5 times higher than the standard value.
No problems instead decreasing intensity, so that intensity can be decreased almost down to 0.

I would prefer these weather conditions to be randomized. :lol2: You know, rain once or twice a day?

A Scripting or other cutomization / randomization Option has alreday been mentioned, hasn´t it? Anyway, here it is again :rotfl:

Cheers, Markus

One of the Kosmos snow environments used in MSTS featured very heavy snow. It also featured snow particles that were essentially one size (B. Scott's snow textures, I think), so the sort of unrealistic appearance of big snow "balls" that show up in the stock MSTS (and OR) snow environments weren't present. I was able to re-work the environment by altering the wind parameters to make a dandy blizzard for MSTS using those textures. I'd love to see that for OR. Csantucci is correct, though--that heavy snow environment really put a strain on computer resources before I upgraded to a beefier machine.

Wouldn´t it be cool to be able to simulate this? :rotfl: ;)
