I can't get my emergency brakes to release. I have tried shift+? but to no avail. I have checked the help section but find nothing. Evidently I don't use the proper search words. Can some onee help me with this? Thank you.

Try releasing the brakes with the keyboard controls for the Train Brakes -- it's train brake decrease on the Open Rails quick start guide. Cheers rhs (aka gerry) :good: {I suppose this clown is big enough)

If the emergency brakes are applied by the system because you have gone "out of control" (e.g. run passed a signal at danger), you must first switch to Manual mode (CTRL-M) before you can release the brakes.

Thanks for the Cntl-M mode. That helped.
BTW, I went through a red and no problem. What makes the emergency brakes apply other than a red.

If you, for whatever reason, run off the specified path in Auto mode for example (some time ago, this caused me (and rob) a Major headache). Also, at least in MSTS excessive overspeed could make you go into emergency, if the overspeed Monitor was correctly set. And I also popped into emergency quite some time when (only possible in Manual mode) running overa Switch from the frog end that was not set for the direction I was coming from.

Anything to add? If so, pls add it / correct me...

CHeers, Markus
