1940'S TEXACO GAS STATION No.2
3-PUMP MEDIUM SIZE STATION WITH COVERED OUTSIDE HOIST AND INTEGRAL RESTROOMS
MESH AND TEXTURE RENDITIONS ©2007-2013 BY TIM MUIR

"From the vault" - Models built specifically for my Pacific Electric route (put on hold for an indefinite period) which I've decided to release over a period of time.

The model was built with intentions for it to be placed very near the tracks, at a crossing, so there's a lot of detail and texture files. The model had to be split into two parts because of the high-polygon counts in the flood lights, which have the lion's share of polys in the detail shape file.

Texaco_Station_1.s = 3940 polygons
Tex_Sta_Detail1.s = 1132 polygons

When placing the models, it's best to pull up both shapes in the object placement box, place one, then keeping it in wire-frame place the other as close to the center (pivot point) as the first. Adjust so that the light poles are in the corners of the lot, with the front poles centered in the grass strips. Now, pressing Ctrl+Shift select both to wire-frame, then adjust both together for final placement. Some minor adjustments to the detail shape will probably have to be made. It's not that difficult.

With the exception of it's front-side polys, the foundation pad is 14 feet thick so that it could be placed on a slope or roadway with shoulders. The station was designed to be in mid-block.

The model comes with night textures but no seasonal textures.

Thanks to Jim Bebenroth for testing the installation.
