Is there a way to switch the passenger (#5) views in OR?

Yes, there is. After you press 5 to get inside of the passenger view, you make the same combination of keys to go backwards or forwards on outside of the train. I am not so sure, but I think it was ALT+PageUp or ALT+PageDown.
