Hello!

A VIA Rail activity realized with MSTS but only playable on Open Rails - Priority trains is not the same in OR than MSTS. In this video you can see arrival and departure of VIA train and some CN freights doubled and met in a few laps of time and few milage.
Route Northwest Line - Open Rails V. Exp - X-1600.

Many points of view come from main train but some others are taken from AI with (Alt+9) touchs.
As the title show "Dream Never Realized" this concept of speed train from quebecer firm Bombardier could provide Canada of modern and fast trains but but in vain due to lack of will. This will remain as pure fiction.

Enjoy this! ;)

This train is out of place. It is a high speed train, yet none of its full potential is reached, since it creeps along at such a slow speed. You may as well just be driving a regular non-high speed train. If VIA were to run a train such as that, it better be on a full high speed line, separate from all the other slow traffic.

This is probably why it will never happen unless they build a separate independent line from all the regular lower speed traffic. And building such a line can be too expensive unless they are fully supported by the public. If there are not enough passengers to use it, it becomes a needless expense to even think about building such a system.

Nice train. But, if you want to try to drive that train appropriately in a high speed line, try to use something else. I think given that there is no appropriate high speed line for any of the Canadian routes out there, you may just try to pretend the NorthEast Corridor route is that high speed route.

Been debated in Canada for over 50 years now for the Windsor//Montreal corridor One of the main reasons the UA Turbo of CN and VIA's broke down so much, as it was never allowed to go at it's intended fast speed. And every time some yahoo got hit on the tracks, lower the speed limit by another 5 miles and see if that helps. Currently, VIA can maintain Toronto to Montreal in a little over 3 hours with it's 5pm-ish departure. But if there was a dedicated corridor much like the NEC, the UA Turbo or BJT could easily shave a hour off that time.

But as for a 'fantasy', I think Nicober's got a great looking video that captures the Canadian spirit still. Slow and steady wins the race. :ko2:

Slow and steady is nice. But only if he were not driving a high speed train. That's just a waste of performance. He may as well have been just driving a steamer instead. That at least looks more realistic. :ko2: If driving a high speed train, show us some high speed, not something slow like that presented. As I said previously, he could imagine just using the NEC instead as a pretend route for the VIA high speed route.

"Via Rail! Yesterday's Speeds, Today!" :rofl2:

That was a great find.

But to get on the serious note though. It may take a while to travel but that is the best way to take in the scenery. Not to go at speeds of a jet. If one wanted to do that, they may just as well fly in an airplane instead. :rofl2:

The first guys to "promote" something because it´s slow. Actually a real good idea. Can imagine this will become more and more important during the years to come, as like they correctly state, everything´s moving faster and faster.

Well, I just would re-think about the Slogan :rofl2:

Cheers, Markus
