We had Open Rails set up at the Brattleboro train station in Vermont for National Train Day. It functioned very well with a RailDriver control and a projector (thanks Walter for your idea). The RailDriver and the projector really added something nice compared with just using a computer. I used the Stowe Northern and Rick Franzosa's activities for the route using the CV and Amtrak sets. They served very well for kids needing something relatively simple.

A big thank you to the Open Rails team and to Rick. The kids all had a lot of fun and it is a great exhibit. Some people came specifically for the train simulator.

Open Rails performed admirably. The first activity gave me an anxious moment because the horn started blowing almost continually (on and off, probably looping). I never figured out to fix it, but the problem went away on restarting.

I just need to get better speakers . . .
