When operating trains during the day, I feel that the headlights are too bright. Could there be some way to turn them down?

Check the inbuilt help for the key function. I think Shift+H toggled MSTS headlights between bright and dim, but only if the setup is included in the ENG file.

Cheers Bazza

By bright Nick, do you mean in how they effect the ground? Or how the bright the light "disc" looks?

What I mean is that the ground looks too bright within the light cone compared to the ground outside of it. It should really look just about the same during the day.

I have the same feeling on the headlights, so removed the lightCone form the eng files. Especially on European tracks it look way too bright, as most trains don't have big headlights.

I agree...the light cone on the ground does look way too bright during the day. In my opinion, we shouldn't be able to see the light shining on the ground at all in bright sunlight. I think it looks about right at night, however (I'd rather not remove the light cone from the ENG files since it would affect night lighting). Would it be possible to have the cone automatically adjust itself so it fades gradually from not visible in daylight to visible at night, depending on the time of day (or overall amount of ambient lighting?)
