Here is the latest render after I did a couple of hours tweaking the model. (Big pic.)

I've got the current uploaded incarnate of M&U #5 for OR, and I must say the original looks very good. Not as much of a pulller as the ATSF Mikes, but still could hold her own on the point of a short little peddler freight or with a rake of 2-bay coal hoppers on some East-Coast route. (Or some shortline, which of course begs the question of whether I want to use the "Santa Cruz and Environs" route as the basis for a fictional mineral-hauling pike...hmm...tempting...)

However...this one looks like it came straight out of a 2012 game that Valve or Bethseda whipped up! I swear, between you, Tim, and Derek, you've probably pushed the known limits of MSTS model-building further in the past couple years than in the early days of the sim! Thankfully, I've got a powerful laptop and ORTS, thataway I can run these masterpieces.

What makes #5 standout from the usual Baldwins is her low slung cab. She was definately a short-liner, suitable for small consist of pax/freight and rakes of ore or coal hoppers.

I've tinkered and tweaked a few things which probably wont show up so much, but I know they're there. :) One item I 'changed' are the two main runningboards. I made the 'plates' out of perforated steel, using an alpha texture, although you have to look closely to see the 'holes' are, ummm, see-through. None of the few photos I've seen of the original support this loco's runningboard's being of perforated steel plate, but as the CE of the project I decided it's Safety First.

I have had her running in OR after a pass through ShapeFix.
