Finally - it is not just about FPS. I've made some experiments and found that the FPS can cause these problems, but it depends on the engine parameters. The slip characteristics is too sharp for the long-step computation in ORTS. I've modified the ORTS datalogger to record necessary variables and the result is that the slip characteristics needs to be smoothed, thus the adhesion model needs to be changed. The problem appears when two or more locomotives are coupled in one consist - even more when one of them is flipped. The adhesion model is computed as a direction independent. If one of the locos is flipped, the force oscilation of its axle is driven and amplified by the other loco force oscilation. As I wrote - it can be solved and it will be soon. I'll report it as a bug so you can follow it's status.
