Just scenery... no trains! Something different...

I would love to know how they did those distant mountains AND actually understand the concept so that I could employ the concept on my Colorado routes. That is the missing element on my Colorado routes: Correctly textured spectacular vistas.
Edit: Where could I obtain the Bernina route so I can take a look at it firsthand as well as hopefully get an idea of how they did that?

Thanks. I will post some more later when I get some time. There are currently others that have been posted on the "Steam Locomotive" thread on the second to most recent page (185) if you haven't seen them already.

Hello Andre,
I really don't know how they did it, because I don't build routes. To me it seems to be easier to build a whole cathedral! That's why I really appreciate the work of all route builders! Maybe someone else can help. Here you can download the route:

Having just downloaded the route, stock and updates I note that in the update PDF it states the following :-
" This upgrade improves the elevation features of the distant mountains in the MSTS Bernina Pass route.
It does it by using as basis better and denser DEM data, and by increasing 16 times the mesh of elevation points used.
This way the distant mountains resemble much more to the real ones.
The terrain textures are unaltered."

Mike
