I was hoping OR V8 would solve the problem of routes that have tiles larger than normal. The ground textures are displayed as grey. The route works but is quite bland with the grey textures. The route looks and runs fine in MSTS. It appears the tiles in this route, and a couple of tiles in Blackfoot aren't split and 4km x 4km in size, something OR can't process. I posted this display issue awhile back. Sorry for cross posting here and TrainSim.

Maybe this can be addressed in a future release. Thanks much to the OR team for the new V8!

Hi'ya Ron, thanks, I received an email and screenshot describing a similar problem on a route I'm supplying assets for. I don't know the full details yet. I'm sure Peter wont mind if I show you the pic.

PS I have the route, but haven't seen this effect yet.

This is on our list. We are revamping our terrain rendering code to use more efficient rendering techniques and this should sort itself out along the way. It should be in the next year or so (not to apply undue pressure to Walt! ).

Great news! Thanks for the reply. I know it has been discussed before. Certainly hard to make everything work and play together. Open Rails is such a pleasure to use compared to Train Sim.
Many Thanks!

Thanks, Wayne, I've passed that on.

I don't know if this has any bearing on the problem, but Peter did say he had the route (in OR) running in the background for some time.

I wonder, would a memory leak contribute to this problem?

Cheers Bazza
