As far as I know, (haven't tried everything of course), version 0.8 of Open Rails works splendid, except for one thing.
The cabviews seems a little odd with missing textures at the top or bottom, or both places at the same time (using the up and down arrows can change this).

Perhaps I can help.

What size (in pixels) is your cabview?
What setting are you using for Options > General > % Cab 2D Stretch in the Menu.exe program?

Thanks,

Hi Chris,

That did the trick, I wasn't aware of that option, but streching to 100% restored the full cabview in Open Rails.
It was a problem in all the different engines/cabviews I have tried today, not only one or two.
The majority of the cabviews is in the size of 1024x768 pixel.
Thank You so much for helping me out with this.

Regards Claus

It's a new option (and not available in the MenuWPF.exe).

The idea is to provide an alternative to stretching MSTS-style cabviews (those with a 1.33 : 1 aspect ratio) on more recent widescreen monitors (with a 1.78 : 1 aspect ratio).

I've made "0% stretch" the new default, whereas 100% provides the old behaviour.

Your resolution of 1280 x 1024 is the opposite of widescreen ( narrowscreen? tallscreen ? ) with a 1.25 : 1 aspect ratio, so I guess we would need left and right arrows to avoid stretching screens with this resolution.

Glad the setting did the trick.

Thanks for that, i came here looking for the answer to that problem as i too use a LCD screen whose native resolution is 1280x1024 and setting to 100% cured mine to.

Great help with this annoying new problem. My native resolution 1280x1024 monitor displayed the same incorrect screen but "stretching to 100%" as outlined here fixed the problem. Perhaps a note in the readme file would be appropriate to point out the 'Menu.exe' location to correct the strange cabview with "Narrow Screen" monitors.
Thanks for the information for the latest version of a great RR sim.

Perhaps I can do better than that, by detecting monitors with aspect ratio less than 1.333 and reverting to the old stretch behaviour just for these.

A more complete method would be to test if the monitor aspect ratio matched the ratio of the cabview background then the code would work with any background and monitor aspect ratio, This method would to some extent future proof the code.
