Fresh from a Boiler-off Rebuilding, Canada Atlantic #21, an 1894 Baldwin, pulled a Rail Fan
Excursion on the A&O Sub from Eureka Springs to Seligman. As protection power, and to assist
the old Baldwin 4-4-0 up Seligman Hill, the A&M provided their classic Alco RS1, #22.
Here's our consist, parked at Eureka Springs, while the Rail Fans board the refurbished wood coaches.
Another shot at Eureka Springs.
Off we go! CA #21 and the Rail Fan Extra leaving Eureka Springs
Headed Down to Junction!
Arriving at Junction
And thru Junction and headed for Seligman
More photos from this run tomorrow . . . .

Cool! Yeah the Alco is nearly as much of a classic as the Baldwin! ;)

Well... now how cool is this? Pretty cool, I'll say.
Looking forward to seeing some more steam/diesel pics from my old friend the A&O Sub!

Crossing the Bridge
Looking Back at the Consist from the Cab of #21
Our intrepid Rider even got a shot from the Cab of #22!!
A couple Crossings
And across the bridge at Beaver
In the cut
Shot from the top of the hill
Another Crossing, with a few fan chasing the train
And a stop at Walden
Next time: on to Pender and Seligman!

Great pic's Tom! :thumbup3: Reminds me of the opening old films on the DVD 'The Tail End', where it shows the transition from steam to diesel. Even though all railroads were 'steeped in tradition, yet under constant change' - the caboose could always be counted on bringing up the rear of any train pretty well.
And no sooner have I said that, I find the clip where the narrator carries on from that exact point.
