Hi all,
I'm slowly getting back into MSTS and Open Rail. I've installed the last version (0.7.905) and all seems correct at first glance : I have graphics and sound as expected and scenarios work. While exploring, I could not find the MSTS equivalent for speed indicator along any route sector. Am I so blind that I can't see it ?
Within the settings, an option is the «alerter»; my logic says that if this parameter is fonctionning it needs route speed to calculate any difference.
Any help would be greatly appreciated for such a basic question.

That hasn't been implemented in any public release. I believe there is someone working on it right now tho (I saw a bug reported on the matter).
I don't know enough about the code to answer the alterer portion of your question.

Speed limits, speed post ( those speed signs in the 3D world) and mileposts are being worked on. Alerter Cab control has not been fully implemented, it is on the TO DO list once the speed limit stuff is completed.

One thing you will find when comparing OR with MSTS is OR calculates the distance the train travels correctly (MSTS definitely did not) so time tables now are correct in OR and also if one wishes to time the sim between points with a stop watch this produces correct speed averages. VERY good.
