I need some help here. How come OR won't load any rolling stock or route? I can't figure it out. I included the log file.

I am a little surprised this has not been replied to yet, anyway here goes..............

The error below from my playing around with OR is fatal, this appears to be causing the problem.

Error: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

This error appears to be caused by OR seeing a reference to a scenery object that it cannot find.
Does this occur on all routes, from my experience it occurs rarely these days and appears to be caused by some package that has not been installed.

Tell me about it. :bigboss: Every time I try to open anything, it displays an error identical to the one I posted. It worked fine before I fixed my computer. All I did was replace and doubled the RAM.

Jeff,
Please try this. Do you have the five default routes, activities and content installed? Please give OR a try with one of the default. If OR loads with the default, we now know it is this route or rolling stock that's causing the error. In addition, what route is BMP_5?

Crashed even with default stuff. Bear Mountain Pass over at train sim.com. Like I said, it all worked before. Here is the log file from the attempt you suggested.

Please switch to the other menu style and launch OR from there once, then you can return to the previous menu style. The problem is that the new menu doesn't create the settings area and the game doesn't expect it to be missing (since been fixed).

It's probably the same reason mine shut down as well. My video card is a 8800GTX and was absolutely filthy and clogged up with dust and dirt. I had to take it apart to clean the cooling fins and fan. It was a mess.
Overheating will do that, Shay5

:oldstry:.

I tried everything I could think of, so,as a last resort, I took the CPU heat sink out, blew the dust out, and put new thermal grease on the processor. Now OR and TRS2010 have, SO FAR, run without shutting the thing down . :yahoo: :D I hope it stays that way. :oldstry:

There's nothing like a little maintenance to keep things going. :D
