MSTS Route The "ACN", NYC Amsterdam, NY
In the 1940s Amsterdam New York was still a
going concern for the New York Central
Railroad. An 0-8-0 stationed in Amsterdam
provided switching for more than two dozen
customers along the 1.3 mile long Amsterdam
Industrial and the 2.6 mile long former
Amsterdam, Chuctanunda & Northern Railroad,
known as the Kellogg Branch.
While the Amsterdam Industrial is pretty flat
the Kellogg Branch reaches grades of 2.6%
between the Route 5 crossing and Kellogg
Avenue and 3.66% between the Gravel Pit and
Mohawk Carpets at the north end of the line.
Short trains, challenging grades, and a lot of
switching, hope you enjoy the ACN.
Route requires New Roads v4.0, xtracks v3.20,
and BIN 1.7.

Paul thank you so much for this wonderful route..you are a genius and it is just the period that I am most fond of.the pinacle of the steam era.
I found all the stock, a few needed to have folders created for them, i hope i guessed the right names i guess Train Store will alert me if i get em wrong.
The Niagara Engine needs sound and cab folders do you have suggestions? I can't wait to run this route..thanks again so much.

Hi Cris,
Just saw this on Trainsim. I aliased the sound and cab to the same that I used for the NYC 0-8-0. I harvested these from Tim Muir's NP 2-8-0 that he posted here a while ago. May not be a perfect match to the engine but my use of the Niagara was for AI traffic only and Tim's sound has a really nice clickity-clack that most engine sounds lack. While you're working the Amsterdam Industrial or the yard, that's what you here coming up behind you along with the usual steam sounds.
But... feel free to add whatever steam sound and cab you prefer.
Paul :-)
