After downloading all of Tim's G-50 gons I decided to go give them and other Muir cars a workout. Here's Time Freight 451 Heading from El Centro to San Diego on the San Diego and Arizona Eastern. 2-8-0 No. 104 is in charge of the train today with SD&AE 105 as helper. We've got lots of lumber on board for the San Diego markets.
We pick up the train at Dos Cabezas and follow it up the canyon to Goat Canyon and it's great high bridge. One last shot as the crew fights the smoke in one of the many tunnels.
Thanks Tim, for the wonderful steam era cars!

Herb, this is a great series of pix. My favorite is the second from last, the bridge shot from a distance. Glad you like the gons!

You'd think Canada had enough lumber but you never know! :)

Maybe I should make a load of California redwood? A good reason for a trip to Canada ?:)
You're quite welcome, Steve, glad you like 'em!

Actually, maybe not. I read in the school rag, last week, that Canada makes or imports 822 hockey sticks per day, on average. That's a lotta slapshots! Besides, I'm sure they'd like to see more great looking cars like this up there! I lived in Canada for 2 years and would love to have one or two more eastern Canadian routes, steam era or modern. Does anyone know of any, off hand?
Best To All,

Good to see the NAE again, Mike. Did I tell you my version imploded, so I'm back to square two? Square two being just the route and its' overhead construction, no added forests and enlarged lumber mills I had done at Gaskins and Grandview and the Seligman, Pender areas. Oh well. I hope we get to see more from you in the future! :)
