My 3DTS routes run with this version (677) of OR where as in version 646 they would not. There seemed to be a missing crossing texture that was causing the problem.

I also noticed with this version (677) that transparent components of models disappear when in the presence of exterior lighting or to be more correct the light beams. This was with the "RMD Eastern Division" route but I have noticed it with other routes as well.

Other than this I'm very impressed with 677. Frame rates are improved and scenery textures really pop now.

Can the zoom out be increased to double what it is now?

If you mean something like the picture below, where the light beam makes things behind it disappear, then it's not new but is a known issue.

James

This one isn't quite that bad.! Looks more like these I have here. The beam is quite noticeable with a yellowish cast and when trans object pass under they disappear. Any part of the train that is within the beam has this affect if it's a trans object but only the train and no other objects.

Yellowish cast even in daylight.

Car becomes partially transparent.

Train in viewpoint is transparent within the beam and beyond

This isn't an admonishment of your efforts but merely an observation. I hadn't noticed the transparency in version 645-646.

Yeah, that looks like the same issue. As you correctly pointed out in the original post, it's only the transparent/blended things that disappear. This problem occurs because OR doesn't yet have decent alpha sorting.

Nice looking Santa Fe heighweight cars you got there Allen.

Got those with one of the packages from 3DTS when I purchased the routes from them. They may have come along with their 3751 but I'm not sure. I didn't think they were all that great with the paper thin trucks and bright colors and all. Definitely an early effort from an earlier time in MSTS.
