Just want to say thanks to the OR team. All 8 wheels of 2926's tender now rotate as they should. Love those extra animations!!!

Hi Allen,
Hah - Really ???
What do you have to do - just name it a "Wheels" group - or - animate it in the modeling program ??? Even though I'm the only one who will notice - that 7th axle on my Mountain's centipede tender not rotaing - bugged the life out of me... I can't wait until I can program the bell to swing...
;)
Regards,
Scott

I named them Wheels31 for Bogie1 and Wheels32 for Bogie2. But now I might be able to get away with Wheels4 and 8. These aren't listed in TSM as animated objects but neither was Rod7 and 8 which I've been using right along with no problems. And as Chris Van Wagoner has said there would be many more animations available for us to use. I'm assuming these have already been implemented in the new OR.

From james ross in the dev team
As best I can tell (the animation code is rather tricky to follow) OR currently limits the following to just 2 frames:
- Engine pantograph
- Track switch
- Level crossing
- Road car.
While the following are unlimited:
- Cab wiper
- Engine/wagon running gear
- Generic animated (scenery) shape
Scott, it looks like you can animate a bell. However, until OR ties the animation trigger to the BELL keyboard command there isn't any control to start and stop.

Hi Allen,
Thanks - I'll have to check out my model when I get some time - should work as is - I believe...
Hi Chris,
No rush whatsoever - as I'm not messing with it now... Just curious though - if you know off the top of your head... I had animated a bell as a test before in MSTS - it worked - the only issue it was directly tied to the speed of the locomotive... It went as fast as a piston rod - LOL - of yeah - and I couldn't tie it to any switch - including the wiper animation... How would you control the speed of the animation - other than a rod ???
So - as you stated - the "wiper animation" are no longer tied to just diesels - and - you can have an unlimited amount of animations all with their own discreet switches (once you guys get to it) ??? Woohooo !!! Now THATs' what I'm Talk'n about !!!
;)
