For some reason FPS is worse with ORTS than with MSTS. For example, in MSTS I get 15-25 FPS on the B-Ham V3 beta, and in ORTS I'm getting 2. I'm no expert with ORTS so I'm a little stumped here, so I need help finding a solution. Thanks in advanced!

If you have dynamic shadows enabled, please see http://www.trainsim....nce-adjustments for possible tuning options (or you can just turn them off).

What do you think this is, paid support? We'll get back to you if and when we can/want.
You've not said what OR options you're using or attached a log file, so you should not be expecting anything.

Hi,
I've been trying to determine exactly what your GPU horsepower spec are in your system as this will have a large impact on your FPS because Open Rails relies more heavily on your GPU than MSTS. Unfortunately, the best I can discover on the web is this statement from the Acer site
NVIDIA® GeForce® 8200 on board graphics with NVIDIA® GeForce® 8400 discrete graphics with either 64MB or 128MB of shared TurboCache memory
Is there any information on the MB size of the your system?

Chris,
I don't think that the memory on the GPU (it is likely shared from main memory anyway) will matter much.
I think that lower end laptops and netbooks are going to struggle with OR because of the low eng GPU's.
Cheers
Derek

I've been testing ORTS with and without dynamic shadows, and there is no visible change in FPS. I have the world object density set at 5, and I basically have everything set as low as it will go. The Acer I'm using had originally had 149 GB on each drive, and I have 22 GB left on the drive I'm using. I don't know much about the workings of computers, so I'm getting as much info as I can get. Thanks for helping, and ORTS seems to be a very promising sim!
