OR guys,

In Version 646 there doesn't appear to be a "zoom in/out" for the various camera views -- or at least I haven't found it yet.

In v360 this was controlled by the up arrow/down arrow; and view up/down was ctrl-up arrow/down arrow.

But in v646 both of the above only move the up/down view.

It's Page Up/Page Down now. Have a look in F1, Key Commands for all the controls, which have changed quite a bit for this release.

Thanks for your speedy reply James,

Wow, that's an impressively long list!

Are there plans to add a printable list to the current PDF manual?

I've only just scratched the surface of the new version but I'm very pleased by the improvements I already see. I notice that engine light alignment has changed for the better -- on this locomotive at any rate:

Thanks to all of you at Open Rails for your hard work!

Hidden in that list is Alt-F1, "Game Debug Keys" (not named so well in hindsight), which prints out the full list to the console/log file which you can then do what you like with. The keys will vary based on your keybaord layout, which is why we tend to avoid listing them in the manual.

I don't find those keys listed in the F1 Key Commands tab. Glad to know they work!

Views, in general, have been changed drastically from MSTS. We're all going to have to get used to a newer and better way to look at things. There is a lot more to Views then meets the eye. (No puns intended, BTW.)

:good:

It seems like a lot of people have them show up as Num 9 and Num 3, along with the arrow keys being Num 2, 4, 6 and 8. Not quite what we intended.

We're all getting used to the buttons. But the results are spectacular. I'm likin' this!

My experience with using the number pad keys to control cameras in this new version of ORTS indicates that it is essential to have Num Lock disabled. Otherwise, many of the key controls (especially those mapped to Pan In and Pan Out) are non-functional, or they work unpredictably (and un-control-ably - as in, my camera zooms all the way out or all the way in with no way to stop somewhere in between).

With Num Lock turned off, all is happy - at least on my machine.

Hi-Ho,

cs

The keys aren't actually defined as the numpad keys - that's actually a bug. They're the arrow keys + page up/down + home/end. But obviously with num lock off the numpad has the same keys so either work. :D
