I have a small(very big) problem that I don't succeed in resolving, this problem that I didn't have with XP, but now unfortunately with W7 I have found this problem, I don't succeed it has to install visual study 2008 on my PC, and so I cannot install XNA, and therefore I cannot install OR.

I have followed the instructions that are suggested in the Help of microsoft, but I don't succeed really to do nothing.

If to someone and happened a problem of the kind, she could help me to resolve my problem.

Thanks

Simone

I checked the MSFT and XNA websites. They indicated that it should install with no problems. We have testers and community members who are using OR with Win7.

Can you give more information about the problems you are having?

The machine is the same one, I have changed only the OS from WV to W7, my problem it is that I don't succeed in installing Visual on W7, problem that I didn't have with WV and first still with XP.

http://picasaweb.goo...588399217314978 (excuse but it is everything in Italian)

My problem is that installation of visual departs, later as soon as 4 MB the donwload stops him, it goes out me that it is a problem with the BITS (in Italian service intelligent transfer in background) I have tried to do what this page tells me http://picasaweb.goo...590183609891058 (excuse but it is everything in Italian) , but I don't succeed in resolving my problem .

Hello Simone,

First of all: if you want to run the Open Rails, you must install these:
- .NET Framework 3.5 SP1
- XNA Framework 3.1

In Win7 the .NET Framework is included.
You have to download and install the XNA Framework 3.1 redistributable from this location: Microsoft XNA Framework Redistributable 3.1

After that you can run Open Rails.

The Visual Studio needed only if you are a developer and you want compile the source code.

Please make sure in each case - .NET and XNA Frameworks - you install the Redistributable version.
